Historical & Cultural Significance

The road from Madinah toward Tabuk carries a historical importance:

In the 9th year after Hijrah, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ led the famous Expedition to Tabuk.
He and about 30,000 companions travelled northward from Madinah, in this direction.
Although a battle did not take place, this expedition became known as the “Difficult Expedition” because of the long distance, harsh sun, and limited supplies.

This path between Madinah and Al-Sham (the Levant), used as a trade route and a road for pilgrims coming from the North.
