Trail Description

Al-Hijra Walkway (Mamsha Al-Hijra) is one of the most popular outdoor walking trails in Madinah, offering a clean, landscaped space for fitness, leisure, and family activities. The walkway stretches through a residential district southwest of the Prophet’s Mosque and is designed as a continuous green corridor with shade trees, seating areas, and wide pathways suitable for walking, jogging, and cycling.

Two Sections Divided by a Main Road

The walkway is divided into two main sections, separated by a main road.

  • Shorter Section (Western Segment)
    • This is the smaller and more family-oriented part of the walkway.
    • It features a popular bike and toy-car rental area, where children can ride small electric vehicles or pedal bikes.
  • Longer Section (Southern Segment)
    • The larger segment extends farther and is used mostly by walkers, joggers, and cyclists.
    • It has landscaped greenery with ornamental palms and seasonal flowers.
    • There are some coffee shops and kiosks on parts of the walkway
    • This section tends to draw a mix of fitness-focused users and groups of friends meeting outdoors.
